Dr. Karandeep Athwal began his studies at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, BC. He completed three years toward a Bachelor of Science degree. Then, he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic (Honours) from Palmer College of Chiropractic - West Campus in San Jose, California.
His interest in sports therapy started after he rehabilitated a serious ankle injury at a young age. Later on, work with the BC Athletic Commission reinforced that interest. He met combat-sport athletes who risked their bodies, valued rehab, and prioritized prevention to stay at peak performance.
Focusing on an evidence based approach, Dr. Athwal’s treatment prioritizes soft tissue therapies and corrective exercises. Manvir (Manna) Sandhu knows the benefits of physiotherapy firsthand. At fourteen, he sustained a lower-back injury. Medications didn’t resolve the pain, so he visited a physiotherapist. That care treated the injury and gave him back to competitive sport. He competed in AAA boys high school basketball, competitive roller hockey and BC touch football.
